Point of Entry
Point of Entry
1.7. - 11.9.2021
Tube Culture Hall, Milano
From the words of the artist:
"(...) looking at the exhibition space, I thought it might be like a passage into a very ancient world, because of the Spanish walls...(...) sometimes I think of concrete beings on alien planets,
of a feeling of indeterminate galactic breadth and grandeur that is beyond human imagination. (...)Point of Entry simply means physically entering the exhibition space, as well as entering
another dimension through each painting.(...)"
For her first solo exhibition in Italy, Antonia Freisburger (Starnbeg, 1990) presents twelve works, oils on canvas, that show themselves to our eyes with biomorphic figures and colorful geometric
shapes, activating very personal fantasy games. The chimeric images oscillate between abstraction and figuration, alternating between the alienating feeling of being in an infinitely large or
infinitely small universe, with no possibility of decision. They are fluctuating, unstable spatial arrangements, which in their folds and nestings, lack any gravitational force.
